Big 3 for Our Big 3!

Big 3 for Our Big 3!

Long time, no read, huh? DeeCilla Talks is back and better than ever! We anticipated exciting news the last time we spoke to you; luckily, we are back to deliver! It is my honor to announce that DeeCilla Comfort Center’s expansion to the east coast! What a way to kick off our new year, but that’s not all! As we kick off our new year this October, we also celebrate our third year of being a successful non-profit! Our expansion and growth have allowed us to prepare local and virtual events for anyone and everyone to enjoy. The culmination of these exciting announcements makes up what we like to call our “Big 3 for Our Big 3!” In other words, to celebrate our 3 years of success, we’re offering 3 significant events for us all to enjoy!

In preparation to launch our third year, we are developing various local events for everyone in and outside our organization. In addition, we will launch virtual events to bridge connections and communities between coasts for all to part-take! As we get closer to said events, we will send announcements through our new text notification system to make sure everyone has a chance to engage! So, make sure you get connected today to stay in the loop. Just text “connect” to (623)257-8244. You will be notified of events such as our upcoming virtual “Walkathon” challenge by staying connected. Registration is now open, so you can get your commemorative t-shirt early enough to wear when completing the challenge.
We look forward to your participation and being a part of our community working to stop domestic violence.

We take great pride in our continued growth. It isn’t often a non-profit makes it to its third year, let alone continued growth during challenging times in our world. We have even launched our third transitional home in Arizona. This new home, and the last in our Arizona series, is named after our founder, Shawanda’s grandmother and aunt, both called “Rose.” These two strong women consistently demonstrated unconditional love, acceptance, and understanding toward not only Shawanda but all she witnessed them interact with. DeeCilla’s new “Rose’s House of Love” aims to provide ideal transitional housing to those we care for while simultaneously reflecting the values of Shawanda’s healing experience with her aunt and grandmother. This is precisely what we aim to do, especially for our residents who seek to regain their identity and learn to love themselves for who they are. It is for these reasons, along with our organizational goals, why we refer to “Rose’s House of Love” as a place where “true love abounds.”

We hope we’ve got your attention and you are just as excited as we are for this upcoming year. Let’s make it a great one!
